1. Pre-Negotiated
   1. Discussed while feeling safe and open to feedback
   2. Person who calls Time Out leaves the location
   3. Agree on safe “cooling off” destination
   4. Disclose both partner’s needs to feel safe

2. 1 Hour---60 minutes!
   1. 20 minutes for my body to calm down
   2. 20 minutes for my emotions to settle
   3. 20 minutes to create a safety plan 

3. Call home to see if it is safe
   1. Am I safe?
   2. Are you safe?
   3. If not take another full hour
   4. Call again.
